Siatica switching sides

I am having a bad flare up where I’m having trouble walking due to pain (diagnosed with siatica). Anyways, first few days my left side hurts really bad down my left leg. I can barely sit. Today I’m at work (on my feet, cannot be avoided), and I bent down and felt a horrible shooting pain and the pain I swear switched to the other side instantly. Now my left side is fine with no pain and right hurts badly. Never experienced this before, so weird. Is this common??

Found out I’m being paid the least

Hi all I want to know if Im being dramatic or not.

So we are hiring (despite our hours being cut). A customer came in asking about it, so I look up the hiring listing after they leave. The minimum hiring rate (so like hiring someone with no coffee experience) is more than I make now. I asked my coworkers what they make. Everybody makes $1.35+ more than I do. These are including newer workers that still aren’t trained completely.

I’ve been at my current job for 4 years this July and have prior coffee experience and coffee management experience. I work all the horrible shifts nobody wants (closing) while my coworkers all get good shifts (opening & 3 midshifts). I feel like I go above and beyond. Finding out I’m being paid the least and I’m doing a higher amount of work has me feeling salty.

I want to ask for at least the minimum hiring pay rate. That would be a 65¢ raise for me. I did get a raise a few months ago because my company had adjusted the pay for everyone, but my pay still is lower than the minimum pay rate.

Am I being dramatic wanting to be paid more?

Negotiating Pay

Hi all, I don’t know if I’m being dramatic or not about wanting to negotiate my pay.

So I’ve been working at my current job for 4 years this July. I have prior experience of working at my family owned coffee shop since I was 14. I also have management experience in coffee after that. Anyways a customer asked about our hiring listing. I look at the listing online after and the minimum pay rate (so like someone with no coffee experience) is more than what I make now. Anyways, long story short: everybody makes more than I do by $1.35 or more per hour, including the newer people that have been there less than a year. I did get a raise recently because they raised the pay rate for everybody & the starting pay for the position, but my pay rate is still below the current hiring rate for having no experience.

I just feel like the pay doesn’t match based on my experience (& years at current job) and knowledge for the job. I feel like I go above and beyond and realizing how low I’m being paid has me feeling salty. It just sucks to find out I’m get compensated the least for the same job, and I want to ask for at least the minimum hiring rate currently. Thanks for your opinions !
