First day at the gym. Couldn't last beyond the first set.
I am 27 years old and weigh 72 kgs with a BMI 26, technically obese. I have had a sedentary lifestyle since the last 4-5 years. Due to some personal issues, I had completely let myself go over these past few years.
Yesterday I decided to put a stop to my self pity and decided to join a local gym. I followed Athlean-X's full body workout for beginners and jotted down all the different workouts and analysed each and every movement pattern.
As it was my first day today, I didn't want to over exert myself so went with a 5 kg dumb bell. The first workout went alright, it was a dumb bell squats. It was the second and third workout which broke me. 1 arm dB press and and chest supported row.
I couldn't move my arms beyond a few reps. Even my legs started feeling jiggly. It was kinda embarrassing but I decided to fix my form first so went with a 2.5kg dB instead. I started doing better but still couldn't complete 3 sets.
I felt very tired and decided to call in quits today. I will try the next set of exercises tomorrow. Hopefully it goes well.
But for those who were complete beginners once, how long did it take for you to atleast complete your sets?
