premed courses

I’m a bit confused about the chemistry requirements for medical school. I took a full year of general chemistry in my first year and am going to complete Organic Chemistry I. If I’m trying to keep my options open for both Canadian and U.S. medical schools, do I also need to take Organic Chemistry II, or is one semester of organic chemistry enough?

Pre-med volunteering help pls

I'm a pre-med student, and I just finished my first year of university. I'm really happy with my GPA so far (3.93), but my main concern is that I have almost no extracurricular experience. I haven't been involved in any clubs, I don't have any relevant volunteering or work experience, and I'm hoping to apply to medical school during my third year.

Am I already at a disadvantage, or is there still enough time to build a competitive application? What kinds of experiences should I focus on over the next two years?

Also, would volunteering at a medical clinic be considered valuable experience? I've applied to several hospitals, but unfortunately, I haven't heard back from any of them yet.
