I was lucky enough to get two days off in a row from my work so I took advantage and did a quick two day adventure from home to Monument Ridge WY, then to Big Bear Lake in MT, and finally on my back home I did Crazy Woman Canyon Road in WY.
I had a day off from work and decided to try tincup pass, I'm happy to announce that you can do it if you're cautious. Granted you're not going to break any speed record, except for how slow you need to go lol! I was doing a brisk 6mph for a lot of so you may want to budget more time than what the trail apps state.
So I am in Colorado for a work thing and I decided that since I'm here I might as well attempt one of the easier badge of honor trails. I set my sights on Engineer Pass and rolled out of my hotel bed at 3am so I can drive there attempt the trail and if I'm successful drive back. Lo and behold I actually did it! And I beat the rain off the trail, just not on the drive back. Interestingly there was a mountain bike race going on at the same time plus the summit was crowded with wranglers so I couldn't get the cool pic of my toaster and the summit sign, however I did manage to snap these!
