Most People Take the Non-Stop Bus… But I Chose the Local One 🚍🇯🇵

Most people choose the super non-stop service on this route, but this time I decided to try one of the local-stop services instead.

Honestly, it’s pretty nice.

There’s a rest stop along the way, the bus tends to be less crowded, and the slower pace actually makes the trip feel more relaxing.

Sometimes the “slower” option ends up being the better experience 👍

Riding Across Kyushu Again… This Time on the 4-Row “Sunlight” Bus 🚍🇯🇵

Today I’m riding the Oita Kotsu “Sunlight” highway bus from Oita to Nagasaki 🚍🇯🇵

Interestingly, the Nagasaki Bus version of the “Sunlight” uses independent 3-row seats, while the Oita Kotsu version has 4-row seating 💺

Of course, comfort depends a lot on how crowded the bus is, but today the 4-row seats actually feel pretty comfortable.

Both buses travel across Kyushu, and the scenery along the expressways is always relaxing to watch.

So… which do you prefer on long-distance buses — 3-row seats or 4-row seats? 🤔

Japan’s Rare Cross-Kyushu Highway Bus | Nagasaki to Oita on the “Sunlight” 🚍🇯🇵

Today I’m riding the Nagasaki Bus “Sunlight” from Nagasaki Station to Oita Shinkawa 🚍🇯🇵

This is one of the few highway bus routes that crosses all the way through Kyushu.

If you like long-distance buses, the “Sunlight” is especially interesting because it has comfortable independent 3-row seats 💺

The scenery along the Nagasaki Expressway and Oita Expressway is beautiful, and the ride feels surprisingly relaxing.

Honestly, this is probably one of the nerdiest ways to travel to Oita… but that’s exactly why I love it 😂

Riding the “Kyushu” Highway Bus from Fukuoka to Nagasaki in Japan 🇯🇵

Today I took the “Kyushu” highway bus from Hakata Bus Terminal in Fukuoka to Nagasaki Station 🚍🇯🇵

Personally, I think this bus is more convenient than the Nishi-Kyushu Shinkansen because there are no transfers.

The seats were surprisingly luxurious with premium leather styling, and the ride felt very comfortable overall.

It had been a while since my last ride on the Kyushu bus, but honestly, it was a great experience 👍

Riding Japan’s “Kuroshio Express” Highway Bus from Kochi to Takamatsu

This time, I rode the “Kuroshio Express” highway bus across Shikoku, traveling from Kochi to Takamatsu in Japan.

What surprised me most was how practical the route felt compared with the train — no transfers, simple fares, and plenty of local stops around Takamatsu.

The ride took about 2 hours and 20 minutes on a JR Shikoku Bus Mitsubishi Fuso Aero Ace. I also compared it with JR’s Limited Express trains in the video.

If you enjoy Japanese transportation, regional bus journeys, or highway bus reviews, I hope you enjoy it 🚌

I recently tried Nishitetsu’s new “Airport Express” bus in Fukuoka, which runs directly from Tenjin to the international terminal.

Unlike the subway, this bus doesn’t require a transfer — and you’re guaranteed a seat, which is nice if you have luggage.

The ride takes about 30–40 minutes depending on traffic, and it costs 500 yen (or 480 yen with an IC card).

The subway is cheaper and often faster, but it can get crowded and requires a transfer to reach the international terminal.

Personally, I found the bus surprisingly comfortable and convenient, especially for a short airport transfer.

If you’ve been to Fukuoka, which would you choose — bus or subway?
