Hi! I've recently built in a new estate (stage 1)

As per our contract, the developer would only let us build our house 6m back from the curb. New houses are now being built only a couple of metres from the curb. We are feeling pretty annoyed as we have lost a portion of our backyard, and now, new houses being built get to use more of their land and we have both paid the same amount?

Is there anything we can do in this situation or just cry on our wasted space in the front yard?
