32M — Still struggling to get my thyroid levels right after adding T3 — looking for advice/experiences
Hi everyone,
I'm a 32-year-old male with hypothyroidism (diagnosed about 6 years ago), and I've been trying to stabilize my thyroid medication. I wanted to see if anyone has had a similar experience.
Recently I added T3 because I still wasn't feeling great on T4 alone.
First blood test - 27 Feb 2026
At the time I was taking:
• 100 mcg T4 daily
• 10 mcg T3 daily
Results:
• TSH: 2.818
• Free T4: 0.78 (low)
• Free T3: 2.74
Second blood test - 11 Apr 2026
Then I changed my dose to:
• 100 mcg T4 daily
• 10 mcg T3, but skipping one day regularly
Results:
• TSH: 3.571
• Free T4: 0.88 (still low)
• Free T3: 2.23
Even though Free T4 improved slightly, it's still below range and my TSH actually went higher.
Now l've changed again to:
• 125 mcg T4
• 10 mcg T3, still skipping one day
I'm currently about 12 days into this new dose.
Symptoms I've been dealing with are mostly digestive issues/constipation, fatigue, and just not feeling properly optimized overall.
I know 12 days is probably too early for full stabilization, but based on these labs, does increasing the T4 seem like the right direction? Has anyone else had low Free T4 even while taking T3?
Would appreciate any experiences or thoughts.
