Jimmy Page loves Charley

Jimmy Page loves Charley

Did you guys see in the Cowboy In London movie that Jimmy Page was telling Charley how good he was and he even made a whole instagram post shouting him out

He was really impressed with the $10 Cowboy album especially “America”

James Hetfield of Metallica is a whole fan of Charley Crockett who has his merch and then Jimmy Page is a fan too thats crazy im sure if any of the other legends like Paul McCartney got to listen to $10 Cowboy or even Clovis now they’d say the same thing about him

Played Clovis to my Dad

My dad grew up on Led Zepellin, Pink Floyd, Queen and The Beatles and I just played him the Clovis album and he’s literally amazed. He said that he is easily comparable to all the best artists and bands from the 70s and he’s been listening to Charley Crockett in general while doing work every other day now.

He hasnt enjoyed an artist in so long and he was saying how Charley has everything on Clovis its a mix of rock, soul, country, blues and literally all traditional music that was the best during the 70s and he was shocked when he heard the title track ”Clovis” with Charley going into that orchestra field. Overall though his favorite songs from Clovis are One Eyed Jack, Eagle and the Crow and Waylon Rides Again

Just thought I would share this with y’all. You cant impress an older person with a modern day artist more than Charley Crockett rn im convinced hes the best artist rn

Waylon Rides Again in the Rolls Royce

Been playing Waylon Rides Again on full volume with the windows rolled down no better feeling with the wind I think this is one of his best songs ever

We are witnessing a legend

With the amount of albums Charley is putting out and the quality its just like Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash in the 70s. I think he’s gonna be a legend just like them.

I truly think Charley has everything. The unique sound, his own signature sound, the writing, his vocals are so unique and he’s so smart when it comes to creativity.

I don’t know any artist who released 4 amazing albums in a span of two years. I’m convinced $10 Cowboy is the best country-soul album of all time and its not debatable for me

We won’t be getting as much albums anymore

Charley Crockett is known for dropping lots of albums very consistently but I dont think we are gonna see the quantity that much from now on

He spent $300,000 on Clovis from his own personal earnings which is gonna take a while to profit from that and now with it being taken down that might’ve just proved that even more true

After The Man From Waco was released, Charley was working on $10 cowboy for a while. Waco got released in 2022 and $10 was released all the way in 2024. Visions of Dallas was released shortly after but in the Cowboy in London documentary Charley mentioned that 7 of the songs that didnt make it on $10 Cowboy (essentially throwaways) he put on Visions of Dallas. So basically most of Visions of Dallas was already recorded in the $10 Cowboy sessions and a lot were throwaways from those $10 sessions

Then, Charley wanted to drop a trilogy and he couldnt have such a huge budget to record three albums so he decided to sign with a label and that label would’ve helped put the trilogy out. He didnt wanna release an album in the trilogy only once a year because at that point it would’ve been forgotten that theres a trilogy even going so obviously he had to release Lonesome, Dollar A Day and Age of the Ram quickly because its all telling a story.

And now, he released Clovis but this time it was from his own personal earnings theres no label help its 300k and its gonna take time to profit from that so we probably won’t be seeing a new album for a good while.

I could be mistaken though but this is my assumption. Either way I think we are good for a while on new music because he gave us the best music in the world from so much albums these past two years its unbelievable

Age of the Ram is growing for me

Honestly I just came back to this album and its growing on me.

I think the initial issue people had with this album is it didnt have enough of those bluesy soul songs that he always puts out and I feel like now that he gave us Clovis, Age of the Ram is a good album to listen to in contrast since Clovis is very soul-bluesy while Age of the Ram is very western country

Is Age of the Ram growing for you guys or what are your thoughts now that some time has went by?

America

This song is so unbelievably good I genuinely think 50 years from now it will be just as good. This is a classic.

It will last forever. And hearing that acoustic version at the end of Cowboy In London was unbelievable. The emotion, the lyrics, the trumpets. Everything

i spoke with this family friend today and randomly asked to play him a song and i genuinely didn’t expect someone to be this impressed I played him One Eyed Jack and he was shocked at how good it was

I’ve been playing this album to a lot of people irl and I gotta say i’ve never seen so much intrigue and interest before. Btw none of them even listen to country like that. $10 Cowboy album has always been the one that impressed people the most when I introduce Charley to them cuz I have this thing of introducing his music to everyone I know but I gotta say i’ve never seen this level of interest as these past few days playing everyone One Eyed Jack, Top Hand and Eagle and the Crow. It feels like he’s next level now. A tier above what he was. I guarantee you any older person from ANY country is getting impressed by this album, even if its a song or two

So we wanted an album full of songs like Lone Star, I Stay Ready and Alamosa and we got it but we also got a style of Charley thats not talked about enough and its whenever he gets into the whole orchestra vibe.

Clovis is absolutely amazing. Now for the next one hear me out. A full on album of songs with this whole orchestra vibe but with him actually singing over it, kinda like on This Crazy Life but with even bigger orchestra arrangements like you’d hear on Clovis or Alamosa.

So basically a full album of songs like Clovis, This Crazy Life and Alamosa. That would be absolutely unreal. And do you guys hear that medieval vibe on Clovis? It has this medieval vibe that fits Charley’s style so well its just insane imagine him making songs continuing that medieval vibe

It feels so weird already talking about the next album concept considering he just gave us Clovis which is a whole masterpiece, but this guy is so good that I feel like theres no limits to how far he can take his music and im just envisioning it ahead

I literally cant stop listening to this i’ve been listening to this 30 times a day this song sounds like “Lone Star” vibes and its one of the best things he’s ever done that intro the first few seconds are out of this world

Charley in his recent post or reel on insta said that he spent personally $300,000 on this album. Did he actually spend that much? And also does this mean that we won’t be getting albums as frequently anymore? Considering he’s independent

Name another artist that gave us FOUR solid albums like these in the past two years. Four albums like these in TWO years. $10 Cowboy alone i’d argue is the best country-soul album of all time. I mean just play “America” on full volume. Who else makes music like that?
