Bravia 5 Open Box

I live near a bestbuy outlet store and stopped on a whim to look at some of their TVs. Currently I have a cheap older 55inch Vizio.

They had a 75inch Bravia 5 in excellent condition for $991 and it seemed like to good a deal to pass up. We tested it, and nothing in the box had even been unpacked. The remote was still in its plastic taped shut.

I'm gonna take a swing at this even though I typically don't like buying open box things. I get a limited time return window, what should I be looking for once it's been delivered that would suggest I should return it. Are there any tests I can run. My wife and I are totally ignorant when it comes to TVs. Though I know Bravias are fantastic with processing and upscaling content to 4k

Assuming it passes, what kind of settings should I put it in for the best experience. We watch a lot of old shows and movies off our Roku and sports

Need guidance on roof claim from adults in the room

I'm a young homeowner in, I feel, like a bit of an awkward position.

I purchased my house 2 years ago. The house today has a 16 year old roof that's likely nearing its end. In 2 months, my homeowners policy is coming for renewal and because of spiking rates (I have no claims) I'm planning to swap carriers. The plan I'm swapping to is actually fairly favorable compared to my current coverage. It has a lower wind and hail deductible and it's an RCV policy.

The problem I'm trying to think through is my roof has existing hail damage from a recent storm. I've had several roofers inspect my roof and all recommended filing a claim before swapping coverage to do a full replacement.

How complicated is my life going to be if I try to open a claim now with my current carrier, while also changing carriers in August?

Despite the hail bruising, we don't have any leaks or missing shingles. Should I wait until the next significant hail storm and just file a claim later with my new coverage since it'll be more favorable covering wise?

There is also the thought in my mind I just give it a year, and pay out of pocket and finance a new roof and not make a claim at all. I can absorb the bill, but have a couple debts over the course of the next year that id like to clear out of the way.
