DACA Approval
Hello everyone,
Wanted to share the breakdown of my timeline here for reference. One of the most gruesome waiting periods of my life, being challenged on all levels of who I was. Faith in the Lord and my support system truly got me through the past five months. I didn't see the biometrics coming, as I'm sure most of us had no clue, since we haven't done them in years. In addition, my previous renewal took exactly 10 days back in 2024, and I ended up renewing later than the usual timeline suggested by USCIS during this renewal cycle, not knowing the intentional delays this administration has bestowed upon USCIS and the immigration community as a whole. I hope you are not beating yourself up for having renewed "late", since we really didn't see this curveball coming.. I definitely been feeling a sense of collective grief as I navigated this journey, seeing all of your reddit posts, and also witnessing my own friends and acquaintances losing their jobs across the country. My heart goes out to you all, and praying that the Lord gives you peace and provisions during this difficult time. I know many of you are still waiting well past the 150 day mark, which pains me so much...
Application Submitted: 12/29/25
Biometrics app scheduled on 1/21/26, but did walk-in on 1/6/26 recommended by my network. The USCIS office staff was nice enough to accommodate the walk-in, but I think it really depends on who you come in contact with.
EAD Expired: 1/23/26
Was put on LOA from work and thankfully they held my position (I work in healthcare).
Submitted congressional expedite request with employer letter: 3/24/26
5/12/26: Congressional office received notice from USCIS that my expedite request was sent to Nebraska Office (was originally in Texas). Not sure if the expedite request was actually approved or not..
Silent Approval: 5/20/26
Total days: 144
Thankful for this resilient community I'm part of!
*curious to know how many days/weeks it took for people to receive their EAD cards in the mail?
