Bushfire season Australia

It’s coming up to bushfire season here in Australia and this years looking like a doozy.
I, my kids and husband all live in a bushfire prone area and our small town has been overrun a few times in the past.

Prior to this year I could evacuate and put in place a bushfire plan, but Feb ‘26 saw me crash into very severe and bed bound, no upright tolerance, no sensory tolerance - you get the idea.

I cannot be moved.

So this year I will have to stay in my unit while my hubby and kids evacuate.

For those who’ve been or are in a similar situation, anything I can do to mitigate the risks? Hubby is emailing the CFA (he’s a local brigade member and a firefighter himself) to let them know - not for protection, that’s unfair and unrealistic, but if the town is overcome the they at least know to look for remains. We’re talking about sprinklers and a generator but that’s outside of budget atm.

Anything I should think of, or anyone I could contact for more info?

Thanks!

Sleep specialist

Saw a sleep specialist today. The best in the country, highly recommended and respected.
I could see why - boy was he good! He understood immediately what was going on and said my sleep was natural for my condition.

He also said - and this is why I’m posting here - that cfs/me and adhd are a really difficult and troublesome combo. It was nice to feel seen and understood.

Anyway he’s put me back on vyvanse and recommending trazodone to my psych. It’s not usually prescribed here but he worked in the US and it’s pretty go-to there so that’s a win.

Expanding after crash

For those who have expanded after a crash, how did you know you were ready to expand?

I crashed from mild to very severe, have been stabilising since May, tried expanding in June with no luck, and feel pretty much that the days are quietening and becoming predictable but still varies on sleep.

Is there something I should be looking out for?

Edit; the reason o ask is my specialist wants me to do a graded expansion and go to the edge of my envelope, stay therefor a week or two, then add more. Every time I’ve tried I’ve gone backwards but he wants me to work with an exercise physiologist and expand.
