I built a site for my pick and drop service in Nahan (Sirmaur). Looking for honest feedback
Hi everyone,
I'm from Nahan and I build a small pick and drop service here. I built a website for it and I'd like honest feedback from people in Himachal before I take it further.
**What it is**
PikkNDrop (https://pikkndrop.com) is a simple site for local rides in and around Nahan. You enter your pickup and drop points, it shows the fare based on the Google Maps road distance, and the request comes straight to me. There is no call centre, no pool of unknown drivers and no app to install.
**Why I made it**
In a small hill town like ours, app cabs don't really operate. Getting a taxi usually means calling around or walking to the stand, and you only find out the fare after some bargaining. I wanted something where the price is fixed and visible before you book, and where you know exactly who is coming to pick you up.
**How it works right now**
- Car (4-seater hatchback): ₹25/km, ₹100 minimum
- Bike: ₹18/km, ₹60 minimum
- No surge and no bargaining. You pay by cash or UPI after the ride
- Ride now, or schedule a pickup up to 7 days ahead
- Live availability on the site, plus a live tracker during the trip
- Rides run 5 AM to 10 PM (no night rides for now)
**The honest limitation**
Himachal is a big state and this covers a very small part of it: roughly 40 km around Nahan, so places like Kala Amb, Paonta Sahib and Dhaula Kuan. It is also just one driver, so it is small on purpose for now. If you are not in Sirmaur you probably can't use it yet, but I would still value your opinion on the idea and the site.
**What I'd like feedback on**
- Is the flow clear, or did anything confuse you?
- Are the per-km rates fair for our area?
- You need Google sign-in to confirm a request. Is that a blocker? Would phone number + OTP be better?
- What would make you actually use this? Fixed fares for common routes, a monthly pricing for school/college trips, Hindi language, shared rides, something else?
- If you are from another town in HP, would something like this be useful where you live?
Criticism is welcome, I would rather hear it now than later.
Mods, if this kind of post isn't allowed here, please remove it and accept my apologies.
