Tips on how to contribute

Guys I'm a lot new here. Just a recent grad, I have main expertise and experience in DevOps and SRE stacks in which I'd say primarily in Docker, Kubernetes, Grafana, Jenkins, and Prometheus. Decent knowledge on Linux and bits of Shell scripting as well.

I want to do contributions to the open source for the above related stacks. I also have good hands over Python and C++ language.

Could someone help me out here a bit with what organizations should i target and how to get involved in the contributing community? Also GSOC is a big dream so just wanna know like how and where to start? Rest i guess will figure along the way.

Confusion pro maxxxing!!! Got denied for a full-time role stating budget issues only to find there are no roles for freshers in the industry for my area of work!!

I guess i'm f'd up!

I did a full 1 year intern at a good company as a Software Engineer mainly working on DevOps and SRE tasks in depth and maintaining good hold over the projects of my team. Unfortunately i have been denied the offer for a full time role(which came a surprise given the work i put in), I asked for review that if anything was missing , I should know that and work on it so that later in future i don't make mistakes again. He said I was one of the best interns he worked with, appreciated my learning and growth and the tasks i did and took a long pause....

Later he said " Issue is the budget"...Now there's no point debating but problem is once i started hunting for similar DevOps, SRE, Linux based jobs there are absolutely no openings for freshers.(legit 0) Even the smallest ones require 7-12 years of experience.

Help me out here if some one has any knowledge of what should i do next and how to get a decent job in this worst market times????

[For Hire] Software Engineering role | 2+ year of experience

It's almost been an year since I started working as a Software Engineer in a decent company mainly working across DevOps and SRE based work. I have decent knowledge about Docker, jenkins, Ansible, Linux, Puppet, Prometheus, Grafana, Git, Github, Nomad, Kubernetes, ELK stack, Kafka. Along with that i also have good critical thinking abilities parallelly doing problem solving on Codeforces to keep in touch with my programming skills and DSA. I've worked some bits on backed, ORM, Golang, Python, MCP server, gRPC server and ML based models too. Have good knowledge of business usage of Ai models and great communication and social skills.

Actively looking for a switch coz things are not going pretty well here. There are already been quite a number of layoffs and it's gonna happen again soon so i want to move out before. Anything related to software roles in DevOps, Ai/ML, SRE, Monitoring and SDE I can easily adapt and learn quickly.

Please let me know if anyone can help me out here.
