(Mixed Trope) Major character gets killed off, only to be brought back later

Hated Example - Brian Griffin (Family Guy): In Episode 6 of Season 12, “Life of Brian”, Family Guy decided to kill off Brian by having him run over by a car. This was such an obvious attempt to boost ratings, but it worked since so many people were distraught to point that there was a petition to bring him back. However, only 2 episodes later in “Christmas Guy”, Brian gets resurrected by saving him in the past. I’ve always found this dumb because not only is it a cheap way to make us feel sympathy for a character that’s been horribly flanderized for the last couple of seasons, but Brian’s death does nothing for the show other than introducing Vinny, the replacement dog, who is gone after three episodes so he doesn’t matter either. (Also, fan reception wasn’t the reason Brian was brought back, he always planned to be revived after 2 episodes).

Good Example - Kenny McCormick (South Park): After being burned out for trying come up with ways kill Kenny every episode and the fact that there’s not much you can do with a character like him, Trey Parker and Matt Stone decided to “permanently” kill him off in the Season 5 episode “Kenny Dies”, we where he succumbs to a terminal illness. He doesn’t reappear until the end of Season 6 finale “Red Sleigh Down”, where the rest of the Boys are unfazed by him returning. Kenny’s death is a great example of this trope because not only is he gone for an entire season, but his death allows other characters to get the spotlight, such as Tweek and Butters.

How I feel about The Secret Door 2 discourse.

Look, I don’t really think The Secret Door 2 is exactly a good idea. The Secret Door doesn’t really need a sequel and this was really only made so Logan can shut up all the 12 year olds who get their SML knowledge from a FNF mod.

That being said, the people bitching about The Secret Door 2 are much more annoying than the people actually wanting it to happen. People are already calling it slop and saying it’s going to suck despite it not even being out yet. At least wait for the video to come out before you bitch and whine about it. Even if I don’t really have high hopes about Secret Door 2, I’m not going to be a raging pessimist about it. I know this community is infamous for complaining all the time, but this is just getting ridiculous.
