I’ve been on MAGI Medicaid for two years in Ohio due to health issues and I’ve recently been offered a part time job. I understand Medicaid eligibility is based off of gross income. Do pre tax contributions lower MAGI? I’ll be extremely close if not over the income limit if I accept the job. However, if I contribute to the employer 401k, will my gross income be lower? Because I’ve been on Medicaid, they won’t be able to use the tax return to see my AGI so I’m assuming it will just be paystubs? If so, how is the projection calculated? Thanks in advance, pretty stressed about this.
