Any suggestions for maintaining weight while being a thin prediabetic ?

I’ve been thin all my life due to genetics and don’t want to lose any weight as I try to watch my carb/ sugar intake. If anything, I’ve been desiring to gain healthy weight.

Possible LADA

I’m in my late 20s. Last year at my doctor appointment my fbg was 101 and A1C was 5.1. This year my fbg was 113 and my A1C was 5.4. I try to eat very well and don’t have a big sweet tooth. My BMI is also around 20. I don’t have immediate or close family with diabetes. It’s a mystery to me why I may be pre-diabetic based on fbg only. A couple thoughts besides lada is having an anxiety disorder my stress levels are high often especially the past year and 3 months before my doctor appointment. Also, when blood was drawn I was in a state of high anxiety. As I try to make changes to improve my fbg and A1C I really don’t want to lose weight as I’m already very lean (have been my whole life). My weight has been stable. I know more tests are needed to rule out the possibility of lada but curious if any of you had similar stories to this?

Prediabetic fbg and normal A1c

At doctor appointment last year , my fbg was 101 and A1c was 5.1. This year, fbg was 113 and A1c was 5.4. In general I have an anxiety disorder and health anxiety so last year seeing my fbg raised increased my overall stress. Both times at the doctor I was with very extreme anxiety. This time I was even more anxious cause of my numbers from the previous year. I’m wondering if stress could have played a role in this. I am very thin and eat very well and workout nearly everyday. I don’t eat dessert every day or if I do it’s portion controlled. I may consider looking into diabetes 1.5 LADA but really hoping this is more related to stress 😕 no one in my immediate family or extended has type 1 or type 2 diabetes, except very distantly related relatives. All other lab work was normal including lipid panel.
