Department blacklisted for making reports
Hey there, everybody, so I role played as a firefighter paramedic named Ken Taylor in the server back to the '90s. The department had a lot of drama since I joined, with a few homophobic or transphobic members, and accused culture of bullying with favoritism. I made an out of character ticket with the command team and reported these issues, with a Google Document of complaints that people have been saying without mentioning who had said them. After I brought this to the command of the fire department, they held an out of character Department meeting, on the Department's discord, things seemed really good after this and eventually, the person at the head of the show who was the chief of department, was fired from his position for making transphobic remarks. This also resulted in him being fired from the staff team.
There was still a bit of problems, like the head of internal affairs was bragging about how many people she had fired, and how nobody had anything to fear if they didn't fuck up. I believe this was bad culture but decided It ultimately wasn't worth constantly bringing up. I brought it up once to my characters captain and left it there.
As of the past 2 weeks, my character and other fire department characters have been experiencing issues with the highway patrol. Such as pulling us over, as we are going to to emergency calls, following us to calls, following us around the server/city.
I reported these incidents to command, and then out of character someone direct messaged me saying that they were going to be arrested / charged for murder. Because a patient had died on their watch, a police officer character. I made a ticket, and made it clear that it was out of character. That I was concerned about role playing on the server when, you getting fired results in a blacklist meaning character termination no other character can join the department either. I was told this was something that had to go to community leadership, so I went to the main Discord and opened a ticket, for the community leadership team. Senior staff ended up Fielding the tickets and shortly after they added the Fire Department chief, the new one, and I was notified shortly after that I was being terminated in character and blacklisted out of character, for starting drama between the departments.
It was always my belief that out of character tickets and in character tickets, made with good faith and we're truthful to the facts, could not result in in character or out of character punishment. For example, blacklist, bans, character termination, warnings from the server.
Now I'm not really sure what to do, I mean, I'm considering moving to a different server that's based in the 1970s. Well, once my computer is no longer broken, because my computer chip pins are broken.... I'm waiting to hear what community leadership has to say about the blacklist, but I think saying that I'm genuinely shocked is an understatement. I made all of those reports and complaints within good faith as a player, with no malicious intent in or out of character.
