1 day post op part 2

Hey everyone! For everyone who saw the first part, this is basically a continuation of that.

After posting the last one, I’m not going to sugarcoat it, I had some pretty bad aching and pain in my nose for about 2 hours afterward. Then it went away, and ever since, I’ve only felt a very faint pressure that honestly doesn’t really bother me.

I also forgot to mention in my last post that your front/buck teeth may feel sore and numb. Mine felt like that at first, but I can barely feel it now, and it isn’t really bothering me anymore.

As for my throat, without the Fisherman’s candy, I can feel a very faint amount of pain, but barely feel anything. It just feels like it’s healing. I can swallow without any issues. Remember its not a sore throat like when your sick.

My eyes still feel a little heavy, almost as if I had liquid in them making them heavier (not literally 😭).

As for being discharged, I actually came alone to another country for this surgery. After I woke up, I got a meal, was able to walk downstairs easily, finalized and signed some paperwork, and then just caught an Uber back to where I’m staying.

So far, I’ve had no headaches, no vomiting or feeling like I’m going to vomit, no dizziness, and no other side effects that I haven’t already mentioned. ;)

And a quick question for anyone who has gone through this: How important is it to put ice around your eyes after rhinoplasty? I don’t have a freezer where I’m staying, and I really don’t want to go outside with this huge thing under my nose just to get some ice 😭

Also ik this is a quick update but just wanted to say most of the bad effects go away pretty quickly for me atleast :) and the intial feeling of paain is pretty temp.

Fully transparent post op feeling of rhinoplasty

Hey everyone! I’ve read some threads and comments comparing rhinoplasties to other procedures that are supposedly super painful. I’m about 5 hours post-op, and what I can tell you is that it’s really not that bad.

For the first 1–2 hours, your eyes will feel really heavy, you’ll obviously feel drugged, and you’ll have a bit of pain around your nose, but nothing too bad. After around the 3rd hour, your eyes will still feel a little heavy, but not nearly as much as before. The pain in your nose does increase a little, but honestly, it’s nothing crazy.

If I could explain the feeling, it’s kind of like getting cut pretty deep with something sharp and then having that aching pain you feel a few minutes afterward.

As for the sore throat, I thought when people mentioned it that it would feel like the sore throat you get when you’re sick, which I was dreading, but nope. It’s more like a mild, slightly painful sore throat. I’m surprised I didn’t see anyone mention this, but I brought Fisherman’s Friend lozenges with me, and after sucking on one, my sore throat went away by like 95%. I can barely feel it now.

So, what should you take away from this? You’ll be fine. The pain is nothing major or anything you probably haven’t felt before. I kid you not. Thank God I had a good reference fresh in my mind because about 3 months ago, I was opening a can of beans with my hand and the metal sliced me pretty deep. :/

If this seems to be a topic people are interested in, I can give more updates over the following days about how I’m feeling and what the recovery is like. :)

Btw if this seems like little informaation this is literally all i feel so.....
