Piccolo Trumpet questions
So for context, I’m about to be a senior in HS, and I have been playing trumpet for almost 5 years now. I would say I’m decent as I’m first chair in my school’s band program. I like to learn instruments, as I have an old cornet, Bb trumpet, and a French horn. My grandfather is adamant about getting me a piccolo trumpet because he heard me say I want one. What are some things I should know before I start learning it? I have had experience with shallow mouthpieces, but I never liked the tone they gave me (I have a 6A4a which sounds awful and a 14A4a that isn’t bad, but my Pickett brass 3c is amazing).
