so for halloween my friend and i are going to canada(shes driving).she’s going home the day after bc she has work. i’m staying the whole weekend and taking the bus home. any recommendations for going about that when we cross the border

this might be a dumb question not sure, but i’m going to canada for the first time to see my girlfriend. her and her friends want me to bring snacks over from the US to canada. would that be something i would have declare when crossing the border?? bc everytime i look into it says just meat and fruits/vegetables so i just wanna confirm how declaring something works.
