I'm driving from Vancouver to Revelstoke this Saturday and was wondering what the smoke conditions are currently like along the Trans-Canada Highway and the Coquihalla.

I've seen reports of some significant wildfires near Vernon, and it also looked pretty smoky around Merritt. Has anyone driven this route recently or lives in the area? How are the conditions now, and is it still safe to make the drive?

Hi, I am an incoming first-year graduate student at UBC and applied for 1-bedrooms/studios for the winter session. Just wondering if anyone has experience living in either Walter Gage or Fairview Crescent. Wondering if I should prefer to live on campus or just look for something outside of campus. I have heard Fairview Crescent has rats... Anyways, any experiences/advice would be appreciated!

I only just applied for on-campus residency for both winter session and year-round, but I'm wayyy low on the waitlist for the year-round, so I don't think I would be getting that. Does anyone have any other recommendations for residency, other than just checking Facebook groups? I would prefer to live without roommates. Thanks!
