Why Am I Suddenly Getting Emails After 17+ years?
Hello, I had a couchsurfing account back in 2009 or so. I did one or two stays and hosted about 3 people. I haven't used it since. Out of nowhere I am suddenly getting regular emails from the app. I tried to get into my old account to delete it but it wanted me to pay. I figured out how to go through the account deletion process without paying so clicked through multiple links and got a confirmation email, but after clicking the confirmation email to confirm I wanted to delete my account it said my request is invalid.
Do they think they can just hold on to my info for ever? Do they think that wasting my time through endless dead end loops is going to convince me to give up? This type of practice is actually illegal in Canada so I will file a privacy complaint if I have to but would rather just delete my account. Does anyone here know what is going on and how I can get my account deleted?
