Struggling in CT

Hello everyone I’m coming on here to share my thoughts and feelings about my experience in CT and hoping to get some feedback. I’ve been a CT tech for about 3 years now. I’d say the job isn’t terrible for the most part. Definitely has its pros and cons like any job. The thing I struggle with the most about this job though is the chance that I could potentially hurt someone. When I say this I’m specifically talking about IV starts and infiltrations. I work at an outpatient site and we start all of our patients IVs. I don’t mind starting them for the most part and would say I’m pretty good at it, but I get super down in the dumps when an infiltration happens. I’ve only experienced it a few times in the 3 years, but every single time it happens I can’t stop thinking about it. Like I lose sleep over it. I know it’s bound to happen in this career, but I’m not sure if I can take it mentally. I’m terrified that I could hurt someone and cause long-lasting damage. It’s so bad to the point that I consider finding a different career. Does anyone else feel this way? How do you handle this?
