My UGC journey + real metrics (for anyone considering getting started)

I’m not a professional or established UGC creator, and these results come from a lot of testing, inconsistency, and plenty of mistakes. My numbers are definitely not what I’d consider optimized, so take the sheets with a grain of salt. I’m sharing everything mainly to be transparent about what worked, what didn’t, and what my actual journey looked like. I honestly think someone with more consistency and a solid plan could do much better than I did.

Please only reply if you've actually found some success with UGC.

I've been uploading UGC for a while now. I haven't earned anything crazy, but I'd guess I've earned around 20–25k Robux from sales in total.

I've been hearing two different pieces of advice: either follow trends or niche down. I have a niche I'd kind of like to focus on, but I'm not sure if that's the smarter move.

Right now I've mostly been following trends, but waiting for new trends to appear takes ages, so I'm wondering if it'd be better to build around a specific niche instead.

I want to make things I actually enjoy, but I also want to make the right long term decision. I don't want to just upload a bunch of random items that end up going nowhere.

So my main question is: Is niching down generally a good strategy for UGC, or is it better to keep following trends? Or are both approaches equally valid?

Do any of you guys cross trade as a statement?

This might sound dumb, but I used to be completely against it for a long time. Recently, though, I’ve started to change my mind and I’m beginning to think it’s really not as bad as I once thought.

Roblox is a pretty trash platform that often feels like it doesn’t care about its users, so why should we always follow every rule they make? If Roblox refuses to listen to its community, it’s hard to see why the community should always blindly listen back.

My opinion has definitely shifted on this. I still understand why the rules exist, but I’m starting to see why people do cross trade
