Changes for DECA Ontario?
Hi!! I was thinking about DECA for the upcoming year, and was looking for the OR prompts for the 26-27 year, when I saw that Ontario DECA is planning on making two changes:
The exam for regionals will instead be an Ontario-specific exam — NOT the multiple choice exams designed by DECA....but one with questions related to ALL the clusters.
Students competing in OR events will also be required to submit a one-page paper on their topic outlining their chosen company and what they will focus on to effectively research their topic. Failing to submit or meet the minimum threshold will mean the disqualification of the team.
Does anyone know what exactly the purpose of these two changes are, or any specifics about either of them? I was planning on doing an OR event next year for the second time, but I'm a little confused on what exactly the paper is.
Also, these changes are what I saw on Ontario DECA's website for prepared events, so I'm not sure if there are other changes being made to oral events.
