Omps 😒
Does anyone actually know how the omps get chosen?
I wonder about this at the start of every month, where we are not given extra time at all to try to memorize everything about these books that are forced on us. Most of the time only 1 or 2 seem even remotely interesting. And I always try not to roll my eyes thinking about something a manager told me when I first started, “the monthly picks are perfect for everyone. There shouldn’t be one person walking out without one, they are specifically chosen so that every single person who reads them enjoys them.” 🤢🤢
Yeah I guess they’ll continue to ignore all the omps that get returned because AGAIN they are being forced on booksellers who force them on people to buy.
I think in the 3ish years of working here I’ve only ever had a handful of meaningful and seamless sales for the omps and the rest that I’ve sold have felt like coercion. Yes of course I’ve hand sold a lot more, but for books that I’ve actually read and in genres that I love.
