How safe is exploring Lima alone if I stick to Miraflores, barranco and the plaza ?

I am going to Peru next week all the way from dubai. I speak basic to moderate Spanish

I have many friends in Cusco which is where I’m headed but none in Lima.

Is it safe to explore on my own ? I’m going to be mindful of my things, so I’ll use a fanny pack for my belongings, and won’t use my phone in public

But yes, I’ll be on my own, using uber to move around.

As of July 2026 what’s the procedure for last minute ticket ?

Im trying to plan my trip as I need to book train tickets as well. As a tourist I cannot use the normal train.

My plan is to arrive on the 20th at aguas calientes from ollantaytambo/cusco

Whats the latest procedure ? What u found online says two different procedures.

One says go to the police station with passport and get the appointment to buy ticket

The other says stand in line at 4 am and get tickets for next day.

What’s the right procedure right now ?

Are airbnbs safe in Lima( Miraflores and barranco) and Cusco ? Is it safe using cameras in Cusco and barranco ?

Im traveling to Peru next month and looking to book a place to stay.

Was considering airbnbs over hotels as they are relatively cheaper.

But does that come with a cost of safety ?

Also I have an old fashioned film camera I wanted to use. I won’t be using it in Lima other than maybe barranco. But primarily in Cusco and or Arequipa in both historical centre as well as touristy destinations. Would it be safe ?

Has anyone tried the website LegitPNR for a temporary ticket to apply for tourist visa ?

I am applying for a tourist visa to Peru(Indians need a tourist visa to enter)

The visa process takes about a week or 2 and they will review the application in the first week

I need a temporary ticket

If I get the flexible one, it reduced my bank balance drastically.

Has anyone anyone tried LegitPNR for a temporary ticket ?

If not any suggestions that will get me a ticket and keep it valid for 14 days ?
