Why do people in 6th form look down on people who go to college and do vocational courses ?

Why is it on this sub that everyone looks down on going to college and doing a vocational course ?

Gcse's and A levels get all the glory and publicity.

Do people who do A levels at 6th form thing people who do vocational subjects are thick ?

Did anyone ever consider studying for a vocational qualification rather than an academic qualification ? [Year 12]

Did anyone on this sub ever consider perusing a vocational qualification for example brick laying, plumbing, electrical, hair or catering ?

If yes then what factors convinced you ?

If no what held you back ?

Also for people who peruse academic routes what type of people peruse vocational qualifications and what are your opinions on people who do them and the qualifications as a whole ?
