Recommendations on deterring squirrels from tomato garden

Every day two or three squirrels hatch a plan, then they descend on my garden escaping with a few tomatoes. Sometimes big tomatoes, sometimes little tomatoes. There are a lot of chewed up tomatoes on the ground at times.

I'm thinking of putting up those corn feeders that squirrels nibble on during my peak tomato harvest.

My garden is enclosed on all sides except the top
I have tried putting bowls of water in the garden in case they are thristy
I've tied dryer sheets around the plants and going through a lot of dryer sheets
I have a few Compact Discs spinning in between plants
I have been wrapping as many tomatoes in bug netting. Sometimes the tomatoes will still have dents as they try to bit through the netting and sometimes they unwrap the netting and still get to the fruit.

My last straw attempt I mixed a large batch of hot pepper spray of garlic and cayenne and have been walking around spraying the tomatoes and plants.

There was the large top of a tomato half eaten on the ground that I was going to use as the photo for this post (this is just clip art, not the actual squirrel that is eating my crops). I saw it on the ground after they hopped away leaving just the top uneaten. I think it was one of my prized MI Golds. I sprayed it heavily with my cayenne garlic spray.

Later that day the came back and ate that too. So, I don't think the spice is working.

I'm going to have to spend a ton of time wrapping every tomato carefully or try something else.

I am really thinking of putting some additional food sources out there but also fear I may attract even more squirrels.

Thanks for your help gardeners!

Eggplant In Distress

I must have 10 to 20 healthy eggplant in my garden. In my area the heat wave just started, we're at 97 degrees, I watered heavily last night.

Today I noticed two plants in distress. Did I miss them when watering? Pests? Did I burn them with fertilizer I recently put down?

Leaves are curled but not crispy dry. Some small flea holes, some white stuff on one of the curled leaves.

Thank you gardening family❤️❤️❤️

Turtle Poop For Fertilizing Garden

I don't have anything to harvest in my garden but just wondering if anyone uses turtle poop water to fertilize their garden?

When I clean the tank a couple times a year, the process is very water intensive. I've read it's a good source to use if you cut 50/50 clean water to tank water.

Obviously I would not water lettuce, herbs but at roots of say Okra, eggplant, peppers, tomatoes etc.

It seems some people say it's Ok and others are really against it because of the possible salmonella transfer.

Twin Tomato

I have a tomato plan that has two sides that mirror each other and the small stem with the tomato buds are coming out in between the two main stems, almost making the buds look like a sucker growth.

I guess i'm just going to leave this plan alone and grow with the two stems like this unless someone has some expert advice.

Thank you gardening fam!

Branching Tomato - let it live?

I've been on top of suckers this year but note that a few plants have split into what looks like two main branches, both branches are starting to flower.

Should I just leave it or cut one off?
Should I have done something earlier on to prevent this?

Thanks gardening fam!

Husqvarna Troubleshooting with Gemini AI

While trouble shooting my Husqvarna 315X and waiting for chat support, I thought i'd try entering the issue with my automower into Google's Gemini AI. I was pleasantly surprised that it nicely summarizes what issues my mower may be having based on my input.

I'd recommend this troubleshooting approach for people who are managing their mowers on their own and who may not be super technical.

Husq 315x not getting to charging station before 0% battery

Hope this isn't a new thing to deal with. Husq. support said to go to a local dealer for help. I've seen others with this issue but really not sure what the cause is or what to look for.

Third time I had to rescue my mower due to an empty battery. It will say 'heading to charger' on the app but seems to keep cutting. it might even be 10 feet from the charger but just turn around and go to the opposite side of the yard.

The battery was replaced last year and it seems to hold a very good charge and cuts for a while before recharging.

315X Husqvarna - 'No Loop Signal' but solid green boundary.

Recently cut a wire while spring planting. Fixed break along with several others, changed layout of wire slightly, changed where an island was connected to main boundary.

I'm pretty sure my wire is solid at this point and have a solid green light at the doc - no issues.

My 315X mower will leave the dock, run a bit then stop and I get a 'no loop signal'.

It seems to have stopped in the same area but there are no wires in the area is stops. I'll try a few more times and see if it stops in the same location.

Anyone troubleshoot this before?

Maybe I need to have it identify my loop/boundary since I've changed some things?
