Buying a 1970s detached home, sellers put spray foam in the roof 9 months ago. Mortgage lenders want it to be removed.

Seller is asking to split the cost of the removal. If it was historic and they didn’t know better I’d be inclined to just go for it, but they did this with awareness of mortgage lenders hatred for it.

Any experience with this kind of scenario? Thanks
