Struggling to Get Interviews as a Junior/Mid-Level Software Developer. Is the Market Really This Bad?

I’ve been applying for junior and mid-level software developer roles for almost a year now, and honestly, it’s becoming really frustrating. It feels like complete silence from the recruiter side. I apply consistently, tailor my resume when I can, and still barely get responses or interviews.

At this point, I’m starting to wonder:

* Are recruiters filtering out resumes automatically?
* Is it harder for backend/.NET developers specifically?

I’d really appreciate honest advice from people who were in a similar situation and eventually broke through. What helped you get interviews or improve your application process?

Thanks in advance.

Edit: I have 3 years of experience as a .NET developer.

Tool that writes Upwork proposals for you. Would you actually use this?

I've been freelancing for a while and the part I hate most isn't the work , it's writing proposals. Every job post needs a personalized pitch, and writing 10 of them a day is exhausting. Most of mine ended up sounding the same anyway.

So I started to create project that:

* Reads the Upwork job post you're looking at
* Learns your tone and skills from your profile
* Writes a fully personalized proposal in seconds

Not a generic template. An actual pitch that references what the client wrote, matches your voice, and highlights the right experience for that specific job.

No more staring at a blank text box for 20 minutes.

My question: would you pay $15/month for this if it helped you win even one extra job?

(Not selling anything right now, genuinely just want to know if this solves a real problem or not)
