Lately I’ve been playing straight ankle lock butterfly ashi and I’ve been having trouble with the counter of somebody just pulling both my lapels up preventing me from bridging out too get the finish.

I’m trying to play Adam’s shin to shin half guard/rdlr position to butterfly and it works for the most part when my opponent tries to knee slice down the middle but when they knee slice to the side I kinda end up getting passed from there. I believe I’m doing something wrong and just wanna see how I can prevent that because I want to play more butterfly half.
