J'habite à Paris. Mon balcon est orienté à l'est, donc reçoit le soleil du matin.

La semaine dernière, avec cette canicule destructrice et inquiétante, la température maximale était d'environ 39°C en moyenne (41 parfois) à Paris.

Le week-end dernier, deux de mes bambous (fargesia angustissima) ont commencé à avoir un aspect étrange. Leurs feuilles devenaient vert terne puis vert grisâtre, là certaines sèchent carrément. Cela concernait la majorité des feuilles, pas toutes. Des bambous d'une autre espèce dans un autre bac n'ont rien.

À noter qu'au début de la semaine, je les arrosais 'copieusement' le soir (env. un peu plus que 1 arrosoir de 6L, ptet 9L). Puis, à mesure que la chaleur s'est intensifiée, j'ai commencé à les arroser un peu le matin et beaucoup le soir.

Problème, je me suis rendue compte que le fond du pot, qui est en bois de mélèze avec une toile intégrée à l'intérieur, est en train de pourrir...

D'où ma question : à votre avis, qu'est-ce qui a pu provoquer cet état chez ces pauvres plantes ? :(

Est-ce les racines qui stagnent et causent le pourrissement du bois du fond du pot ?

Trop de soleil ?

Pas assez d'eau durant la canicule ?

Ou complètement autre chose ?

Hi, so last week we had a major heatwave in France that was very harsh on the biodiversity. It was so uncommon that 80 people drowned across the country trying to stay cool.

I'm based in Paris. My balcony faces the East so I get the morning sun. In Paris, the max temperature was 39°C on average each day.

Now two of my bamboos (fargesia angustissima) were starting to look very weird last weekend (faded green then greyish green). This applied to the majority of leaves, not all of them.

To note, at the beginning of the week, I was watering them copiously on evenings, then, as the week went by and the heat got worse, a bit in the morning and a lot on evenings

Thing is, turns out the pot, which is made of larch wood (Mélèze) is rotting at the bottom, I noticed this last weekend....

Hence my open question, what do you think caused these poor plants to look like this :'(

Was it the roots that are bathing in too much water hence the rotting bottom?

Too much sun?

Not enough water in a heatwave?

Something else?
