An account on Reddit pretending to be a married female is going around scamming guys for money. It’s has happened with two of my acquaintances on two separate occasions in a span of 3 days and luckily both of them were smart enough to recognise the attempted scam.

He/she maintains a very simple and clean modus operandi:

1. Initiate conversation
2. Send fake pictures to assure you everything is real
3. Asks to get intimate at a fancy hotel that only they book
4. Hotel expenses are to be split 50-50 by both parties.
5. You are never allowed to book the exact same hotel as preferred by them because they want to be discreet as they’re married.
6. The hotels in these two cases were only The Hyatt Place & Tiptop International.
7. Ask you to pay your 50% split upfront via GPay and even provide you with a fake number which is generally claimed to be a cousin’s or a friend’s.

Once you pay, they vanish. You’re blocked from everywhere.

I have no idea how many innocent, young and horny men have fallen into this trap. And also I’m equally surprised as to why these men haven’t come forward to raise awareness.
