Dorms, storage, and walls

Hello,

In the Mines dorms, are you able to use nails, screws, command strips, etc to hang things on walls?

Ceilings seem to be pretty high so using vertical space for storage makes sense, but I'm not sure if the best thing would be tall plastic drawers or if you can screw shelving into the walls or what?

For example, if you loft your bed it looks like you are sleeping about 5 feet up. Since 5 foot tall night stands are rare, can you screw a shelf to the wall for holding phone, etc.?

If not, what do people do for bedside storage when lofting a bed?

Thanks.

Questions about electricity in dorms

I have a few electrical questions about Mines dorms. I care most about Spruce, but I'm interested for others as well:

  1. Does each regular dorm room have only one 15 or 20 Amp electrical circuit or more than one circuit? I'm wondering because if people have (for example) a mini-fridge, microwave, and gaming PC sharing one circuit, you could trip a breaker every time you make popcorn.

  2. If you do trip a circuit breaker, are the panels in each room or accessible somewhere so you can reset the breaker so as not to be without electricity until someone can reset a circuit in a main breaker panel somewhere?

  3. Are there a reasonable number of electrical outlets, or do you need a bunch of super-long extension cords to compensate for too few plugs?
