UPS Alternatives

Unifi has been out of stock with rack mounted UPS' for quite some time now. I'm actively in the middle of a multi-facility upgrade to an all Unifi ecosystem. UPS isn't as critical for now, but I'd like to get something in within the next 60 days.

Curious what this group finds to be an acceptable alternative? Ideally, I wanted the UPS and power control integration natively with Unifis system. But that seems to perhaps not be an option in the time I want.

Let me know what you have found to be an acceptable alternative in terms of something comparable. Some key items we needed to address:

- Graceful shutdown (of course)
- Ability to spin back up key endpoints when power returns (assuming it still has battery)
- Ability to powercycle plugs remotely

Thanks in advance.

System Notification Banners

Hey all. Anyone here using software to push notifications to their users? I recently joined a company that has a bit of a different user base than I am familiar with (I come from enterprise software). This is as very blue-collar services oriented industry so we have a lot of endpoints out there that don't actively check e-mails (barely part of their day to day) or check teams.

When something comes up we often need to get the users attention and there's over 1200 end users so we want to control the messaging. I think it'd be helpful to push an alert to the desktop that pops-up, something like SnapComms.

Just curious if anyone in here has had experience with that, any feedback on it, or if they found something native within InTune/MS Admin setup. I tried doing a toast notification via PS push from InTune it's not quite what I need.

I am trying to setup a training lab for my team to learn the Unifi systems. I want to show them the benefits of the unifi app and site manager when it comes to alerts of devices being disconnected.

My test scenario is simple:

- Unifi Dream Machine Pro, 16 port POE+ switch (Unifi), and a U7 Pro XG
- U7 Pro AP will be disconnected to show alert
- Dream Machine is online, internet is working

When it disconnects I want to send the alert. I set it in the alarms manager but nothing happens when I disconnect the AP (unplug the cable in the AP, leave it in the switch). When I plug it back in, after it boots, THEN I get the alert it was disconnected and reconnected.

That defeats the purpose of the test. Am I missing a setting somewhere?
