Taken with Z5 & N24-70 f/4. It was pure luck all pigeons turned blurred/moving, and the duck stopped to pose - therefore in focus.

Staying in mandarin ducks minithread - lest we forget about the ladies

While they themselves are rather monochromatic beauties, all this color craziness is just for their sake. Actually it's no use being so wildly colorful if don't have someone around to state: "Wow, u are so wildly colorful!". Anyways, when I look at those duck ladies it somehow seems to me that they react to that a bit bloated boyish "look at me!" showing-off stance with just a slight smile of mixed embarrasment and pity. How peculiarly similar to... well, nevermind. Taken with Z5 & N24-200.

Reproduction under way!

One may wonder how dandelions were able to propagate back in the old old days, when kids weren't around :) I caught one trying to do it by itself. Z5 & N24-200

The Runner & The Reader with kind of forgotten Sigma 20-40 2.8D (and D610)

Just a classic silhouette pic of a local hill in the late afternoon - I waited for clouds to reach the hill's top level. Taken with my first FF lens for digital bodies - Sigma 20-40D EX, sort of a rarity today I guess, as it was introduced 25 yrs ago. It had what you call "character" - monstrous vignetting, softness instead of sharpness and color rendering so specific that you can't mimic it in pp :) I liked this lens!

One of these creatures you can't believe they really exist

Males of Aix galericulata ("mandarin duck") amaze me every time I see them. Those colors and and color distribution is ridiculously fantastic. And you can just meet them in parks in big cities in Europe with no effort of seeking. They are so different from the rest of city birds (fauna in general) you may think there has been some human-planned genetic tinkering, but there has not! Amazing :) Taken with Z5 and 24-200.
