Dream about an endless maze of toilets
Earlier, I seen a post of a woman explaining how many women have had a dream about a large room with lots of toilets. I've had this reoccurring dream, and I’m curious what people think it might represent.
The dream took place in a long, wide room with low ceilings, kind of murky and dim. It wasn’t scary, just uncomfortable. When I walked in, the door closed behind me, but I didn’t feel the need to leave. It felt like there were other people there, but I couldn't see or hear them.
The entire room was filled with hundreds of toilet stalls, but not arranged in any normal way. They formed a maze with no logic, some paths went nowhere, some looped, some had clusters of four toilets in a circle facing outward. The spacing made no sense.
Everything was made of dark green plastic, like portapottys. No sharp corners anywhere, all rounded, moulded shapes. The toilets were also plastic, connected to the walls, with a dip between the wall and the seat. The stall walls only came up to about torso height when sitting, so there was basically no privacy at all. Some stalls had flimsy little swinging doors, most had none.
The room was kind of filthy, some toilets were full, some weren’t. The outer walls had big school‑style windows with faint black grid lines, but you couldn’t see out of them. Just a dark greenish fog and a faint light from somewhere above.
It was large, but claustrophobic and uncomfortable but not threatening. I tried to recreate the space using a prompt, which was extremely close to what I had seen in the dream, here’s the exact wording I used:
“Photograph, first-person POV just inside the entrance of an impossibly vast low-ceilinged room that extends so far in every direction the walls are not visible, no left wall, no back wall, just stalls fading into dark green murk and infinity. Hundreds upon hundreds of dark olive-green rounded plastic toilet stalls filling every inch of space, packed so densely the room feels consumed by them. The stalls are made of completely smooth, featureless rounded plastic, no panels, no lines, no detail, no texture, like softened blobs of dark green plastic, the bases melting and blending organically into the floor with no hard edge, no join, just a continuous curve from wall to floor. The stall walls are short, barely waist height, fully rounded with zero sharp corners anywhere, so the toilet inside is completely visible from standing. The maze has no logic, paths curve, fork, loop, dead-end randomly, some bend around clusters of stalls, no straight lines, no sense of direction, like being inside a dream with no geometry. Some stalls have small rounded swinging plastic half-doors, most have none. No light source visible anywhere, the room exists in a deep dark olive-green murk, everything just barely perceivable, like eyes adjusted to total darkness, no lamps, no windows casting light, just a sourceless dim comprehension of the space. Wire-grid school windows somewhere impossibly far away on walls lost in darkness. Clean but worn. 35mm film, backrooms liminal horror, hyper-realistic, heavy grain, near-total darkness.”
I’m not necessarily looking for a “correct” interpretation, I’m just curious how this comes across to other people. What would you make of a dream like this?
