Few weeks out from R1 deadlines and the MBA-for-VC plan keeps looking less obvious. Conversations with people who made the IB-to-MBA-to-VC jump mostly confirm that the MBA was useful for the network and brand but not really for investing skills, which they all picked up on the job. None of them said the MBA was the thing that landed the VC seat. The cost is enormous, the opportunity cost is two years of compounding, and the part of the value prop that maps to the VC career goal seems to be brand access. Maybe that's worth it if the brand opens doors that wouldn't open otherwise. Maybe not, if the same access can be built through more targeted programs aimed at the investing side directly. Anyone here went the MBA route for VC and looked back glad about it? Or the opposite, did the MBA route and now wishes a more direct apprenticeship-style path had been the move? The decision needs to happen with eyes open before the application deadline locks it in.

I'm not looking for a lecture on what I should have done differently. What I want to share is that the situation isn't always as stuck as it feels.
My rate was 15.3%. Every time I made a payment I looked at how much went to principal versus interest and it was depressing. Over $100 of every payment was just disappearing into interest. Felt like running on a treadmill.
What changed things was getting off the assumption that the loan was permanent. I'd rebuilt my credit over the previous 18 months and hadn't thought to revisit the loan at all.
I refinanced to 8.1% and the payment dropped to $298. Same car, same balance, different rate. Now the principal actually drops at a pace that feels real.
overall review: this haul was built more around putting together a wearable everyday rotation instead of only focusing on louder hype pieces. the mix of tees, shorts, accessories, bags and footwear made the overall haul feel way more balanced and practical for regular daily outfits. there’s a good combination of minimal basics, graphic-heavy pieces and smaller accessories, which kept the rotation from feeling repetitive or overdone
most of the tees and shorts are simple enough for everyday wear without needing too much effort, while the accessories and footwear helped complete the overall styling a lot better. the bags, glasses, jewelry and sandals added more variety without making the haul feel too heavy in one category. overall this ended up being one of the more useful mixed hauls for casual everyday wear and summer outfits
