BRCA Testing Adelaide Australia

Hi everyone. I have a long family history of both ovarian and breast cancer on both sides of my family. I’d really love the peace of mind of being tested for the BRCA gene as none of my affected family members are willing to be tested 🥲

Has anyone been through public testing recently? If so how long did it take from referral to testing/results?

Did your GP refer you directly to the Adult Genetics Unit at the RAH?

I know my situation isn’t urgent but I’d really appreciate hearing about other people’s experiences. I feel like there isn’t a lot of clear information available and I’d love to understand the process a bit better.

Thanks so much!

Moving to London – Looking for Advice on Hospital / Medical Administration Jobs

Hi everyone! I’m planning on moving to London early next year and was hoping to get some advice.

I have 3+ years of experience working in hospital administration in Australia (6+ years in customer service), and I absolutely love the work. I’d really like to continue my career in hospital administration or another medical administration role once I’m in the UK.

I’m just wondering…. are employers generally open to hiring Australians with relevant experience, or do they tend to prefer candidates with UK healthcare experience? I don’t really understand how the NHS works, so I’m not sure how transferable my experience is.

My biggest worry is getting over there and not being able to find a job. I’ve never worked in a pub, so I can’t exactly fall back on walking into one with my resume if things don’t go to plan 😅😅

I’d love to hear from anyone who’s made a similar move or works in the field. Thank you!!!
