I'm getting back into OMAD and I'm not seeing the results I'm expecting despite a strict caloric deficit. I would appreciate some feedback as to what could be going on.
I'm a 47 year old dude.
Weighed in at 182 on 07/10 and decided then and there to get back on the wagon. I've lost ten or so pounds over the course of the following month, and things were going well until recently.
Last Tuesday, I weighed in at 170.1
Wednesday 169.5
Thursday 169.5
Friday 168.9
Saturday 168.4
Sunday 168.4
Monday (today) 169.4
What the heck is going on???
For the last week I have been eating once a day at 5pm. Same meal each time. Two small cibatta bread sandwiches.
Two rolls, two pieces of ham, and two pieces of cheese total for both. Hell, on two occasions I only used one piece of cheese and cut it in half.
Roll - 210 calories per piece
Ham - 70 calories per slice
Cheese / 100 calories per slice
So 760 calories if I use two pieces of cheese, or 660 calories if I only use one across both.
My daily calories are well under 1000. So why the hell is this so stagnant? Why and for that matter HOW am I back up to 169.4 today?
On Saturday I was happy. The difference between 170.1 and 168.4 was sufficient for me and my goals. Not quite 2lbs for a week, but close. But then I was the same the following day, and now a pound MORE today?
I have done OMAD in the past with great results. FAST results. But this time around I am not seeing the results I should be seeing.
I would appreciate some perspective because I am following this to the letter.
I am literally eating once a day at 5pm. I'm done by 5:10 or so. I don't snack or drink sugary soda or anything else. Its water or gaterade zero during the day, my one meal, and water before bed if necessary. My calories are absolutely 100% in deficit tier. But the math isnt mathing on the scale front.
I get that weight fluctuates and that's normal, but these results doesn't feel normal. If I'm going to endure this, I want the rewards I'm supposed to receive for my consistency. Otherwise what's the damn point.
Lastly I know my metabolism isn't what it used to be, but I'm still in a deficit. I'm 6' even. A six foot male consuming well under a thousand calories a day should be seeing better results than this....right?
I haven't been weight training either so the issue isn't from gaining a little muscle while losing fat.
Thank you in advance to anyone who chimes in. This is so frustrating.
