CamelWorks Tribute: The Camel Bear

Earlier this year, the Elder Scrolls community suffered a great loss with the passing away of Mackenzie Rowles, better known as Camelworks. Camel interviewed Ted back in 2023 and shared his excitement about reading a TES in-game book written by Ted that featured a wombat, noting how rare marsupials are in fantasy worlds. Ted promised him that we would feature a marsupial in The Wayward Realms.

Following his passing, we decided to name that creature in his honor. Thus, we present to you the Camel Bear, a bear-sized relative of the wombat. Docile yet incredibly dangerous when provoked, Camel Bears wander the dense forests and mountain ranges of the Archipelago, carrying their young, known as Kenzies, safely in a pouch on their underside.

Write Your Legend Across the World

The world doesn't need saving. It needs a story worth remembering.

Long before you arrived, kingdoms rose from dust, empires crumbled into legend, and countless heroes vanished beneath the weight of time. The world will endure long after your final breath. What matters is the mark you leave upon it. Let your victories echo through its halls, your failures become cautionary tales, and your name pass from one generation to the next. In the end, the greatest adventure is not saving the world, it's becoming the legend it refuses to forget.

Aeas, the Goddes of Light

Aeas, the Goddess of light, family, childbirth, peace, and the destruction of the undead, has the most widespread religious institution on the Archipelago, the Temple of Aeas.

The Temple’s influence reaches the highest levels of society from its headquarters in Koventry, patron city of both the royal family and Aeas herself. The grand cathedral, which is located at the heart of the city and lies a stone’s throw away from the royal palace, is known as the Cathedral and Metropolitan Church of Aeas at Koventry.

Here, powerful relics are kept and preserved, including the Wheel Of Caxis, the Shapash, the Splendent Gown, the Glaviette Invictus, and the Urn Of Martyrs, to name a few. Overseeing these relics, and the Temple itself, is the aging but beloved Archbishop Bourchier, who advocated for unity during the civil war. Now, in his 80s, he can still recite poetry and scripture from memory, though the rest of his words are often nonsensical.

Wayward Radio Ep 19: Law & Order

What happens when someone steps out of line in The Archipelago? What does crime and punishement look like? Do cultural differences even matter?

Editor and Lore-master of The Wayward Realms, John, took the time to return to our podcast and shared his insights with Victor (Creative Dir. of The Wayward Realms) and Joe.

Beyond the lore, we discuss the systems players will encounter when laws are broken such as NPC reactions, the role of law enforcement, the court system, punishment and even systemic corruption!

July Faction Spotlight!

As you explore Eyjar and the lands beyond, will you choose to forge your own path, or swear allegiance to a greater cause? Before you stand three distinct banners of heraldry:

  1. Lord Godsend embraces the heroic image his name evokes. His white bird of peace spreads its wings, inspiring hope, freedom, and the promise of a brighter tomorrow.
  2. Baron Anatork, seemingly the foil to Lord Godsend, projects strength and vigilance. His bird of prey soars high above, a symbol of authority, dominance, and an ever-watchful gaze over his domain.
  3. The Knights Errant proudly display their commitment to duty, honor, and service through their chosen heraldry. Who could refuse such humble champions of the common folk?

But what lies beneath these proud symbols? If the pageantry is stripped away, will you find people devoted to a noble cause...or something far more complicated? Will you trade the freedom of individuality for the security of allegiance?

Or was there ever truly a choice?

Anatork's Artifact - March Madness Winner!

Congratulations to all those who participated in our March Madness content! Our art team worked hard to bring this amazing piece to you, which can be yours by aiding Anatork's Army in the game!

Here, Dukain, Mayor of Belpher Parva, shares the fascinating history behind one of his favorite historical artifacts: Anatork's Artifact. This battle-worn helm spent 134 years (1278–1412) passing between House Leythirn and Clan Gaeylith before ultimately returning to the family of the Orkish warchief whose skull adorns its faceplate—a remarkable journey of conflict, loss, and redemption.

"Baron Anatork has a rather odd and unique artifact in his collection. One, I must admit, I rather fancy. For you see, he possesses a helmet with the skull of his ancestor mounted as a faceplate. A strange family heirloom, I know.

Around two centuries ago, Brakth, the Warchief of Clan Gaeylith, was slain in battle by Duke Reynald of House Leythirn. The Duke took Brakth’s skull and had it treated and mounted as a trophy. Over a century later, his descendant, Duke Uwen, took that same skull and mounted it to his helm. Surely a tactic to frighten off Orkish foes, who might cause a stir on the Eastern Isles. Well, it didn’t seem to work, for he was slain in a skirmish when the Eastern Isles returned to Orkish control.

In the peace talks that followed, the helmet was returned to Clan Gaeylith as a symbol of good will. Now, most races might view such a gift as a mockery, but Orks do love to mount the bones of their ancestors on their weapons and armor. So it was that the helm was passed down to Anatork’s father and now to him. A grim but beautiful reminder of his heritage. I do quite find it so exquisite.

The Forsaken Saint

Sir Ogander served the throne

With faithful sword and sacred oath,

Until the king commanded him

To bring the innocent to death.

He would not harm a blameless child.

He turned his blade against the crown.

For that, they flayed him to the bone

And left him dying in the town.

They bent his sword into an anchor

And dragged him to the freezing lake.

Now Saint Ogander slumbers there,

Forsaken for the helpless’ sake.
