Buying Books from the Library

Yesterday, I went to the library to pick up two holds (11/22/63 by Stephen King and The Murder at the End of the World by Stuart Turton) and decided to browse the books for sale. I picked up five, all are in pristine condition, and the total cost was $6! Once I read them, I will give them right back to the library. I bought:

The Covenant of Water by Abraham Vereghese (I absolutely loved Cutting for Stone; it's on my favorites shelf)

La Rose by Louise Erdrich (I loved The Sentence and have always meant to get back to her books)

The Evening and the Morning by Ken Follet (This is the prequel to his Kingsbridge series which are all on my favorites shelf)

The Institute by Stephen King and The Body by Stephen King (this book was made into the movie "Stand by Me.")

I currently have 5 books checked out, so I will have to read those first, but am excited to eventually get to these.

Anyone else like to buy books from the library?

I'd lost my reading mojo. It was the longest I've ever gone without completing a book; about 18 months.

I got it back in March, and started easy. I started with books I knew I could easily get into and didn't require a lot of brain power. April saw me dipping my toes in a bit deeper.

April's books:

Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid

Memory Man by David Baldacci

A Woman Is No Man by Etaf Rum

The House In The Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune

IQ by Joe Ide

I enjoyed them all.

I've upped the ante a bit and now I'm getting ready to start an epic fantasy: The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. This book has been on my to-read list for quite some time. I used to be pretty active on Good Reads and so was Patrick Rothfuss. It seems he and I enjoyed the same books and he wrote wonderful reviews, and because of that, I wanted to read his books. So, here goes!

What did you read last month?
