Rope tow vs lift
Why don’t more big resorts in the west have rope tows? As far as I know (not a lot) kingvail is the only park out there that has a rope and even that one is slow and seems temporary. In the Midwest rope tows are very prominent and lots of very good park riders have grown up on ropes. I know that most of the money comes from normal people going for the weekend to ride groomers but I feel like at least woodies and copper should have park ropes. Whenever I go to mammoth or woodies I can tell from the chair who grew up on ropes and who grew up on chairs just from how consistent they are on rails. They definitely have a better jump game but the laps we can get on rails with ropes just can’t be beat.
This is something I’ve wondered about for a while, it’s probably been discussed on here before but I just found out about this sub.
