“I mean, look”

Every time a commotion host says this phrase they should be fined $50. I can’t think of any other way to eradicate it from that show.

We Regret To Inform You is TERRIBLE

This show is so bad. Each episode is a single paragraph from wikipedia stretched out to an excruciating length. Of course EVERY SUCCESSFUL PERSON AND PROJECT HAS FACED FAILURE. It's such a boring trope. And the delivery is awful. It's like 25 minutes of focal fry. Why is CBC airing this? Who asked for it? How can listeners actually give feedback? They should have a user rating system on their website so that we can one star this thing into oblivion.

Cheap submersible flashlight with no bells and whistles?

I’ve searched through the sub a bunch but most submersible torch threads go into dive lights which are overkill for me. What I’m looking for is a small, cheap, submersible light that can sit unused for a very long time but still be there for you in an emergency. It doesn’t have to have a long run time but it should have a long shelf life. The use case is for a canoe safety kit. If the boat police ask to see your emergency kit, the junk flashlight that comes with the kit always gets waterlogged and rusty and doesn’t work after a year. I‘m thinking it would be better to clip a flashlight and whistle to every life jacket instead. I think it’s better emergency preparedness as well as better protection from getting a fine.

But these lights would rarely get used and it’s entirely likely they could be submerged. They would be stored in an unheated shed most of the time and could also be exposed to rain and sun so I don’t want to rely on the same bad quality junk that gets included in the boating safety kits.

If the light floats that would be a bonus but not an absolute requirement

I’d like to buy a handful so it would be great if they were cheap - $20 or less ideally.

Does anything spring to mind? Thanks so much!

Why are hazy east coast ipas everywhere?

I just don’t get it. Most of them straight up taste bad. Even “good” ones aren‘t great. There is no hop character. I feel like the breweries are cranking these out because it’s dead simple to make them and you can sell batches that didn’t even turn out very good. I wish they did not use the term ipa for these fruity soapy tasting beers because they are drowning out proper clear piney ipas on the taps at most bars. Places that are going to just put one or two ipa on tap are now basically never putting proper, clear, hops forward ipa options on any more but they still think they are ticking the ipa box. Am I a weird outlier on this? Like the people who think cilantro tastes like soap?
