On the nature of Hades and his relation to Necron and Gaia.
Thought I would ask as a fun speculative discussion. But I wonder if there is any in-universe connective tissue between Hades and Necron?
Hades is found hiding in Memoria right before the fight with Deathguise, Trance Kuja, and Necron. Necron is supposed to represent death in the game, or fear and hatred. Something traditionally kept for the namesake of Hades.
I also just recently learned that Hades was supposed to be the end game boss but they scrapped him and relegated him to an optional Superboss instead.
Hades also has alternative dialogue regarding Ozma, if you defeat Ozma first. Specifically noting that the party is potentially overpowered if they could overcome Ozma. Which goes into another far-flung speculative topic... The connection of Hades and Ozma and ARK.
ARK is suggested to be a Terran Eidolon as it is a boss in Terra (as well as its Summon animation). Ozma is suggested to be a Gaian Eidolon so ancient that no culture exists in which memories can give it form. Ozma drops a Pumice though, the very essence of ARK. And Hades is the only being that can synthesize Pumice, on top of knowing Ozma, which suggests Ozma may have been a Terran Eidolon who got stuck on Gaia in a past assimilation.
Which begs me to ask, was Hades the Terran equivalent to Necron?
Anyways, any thoughts?
