The THCA/ THCP "Hemp Tea" loophole is officially on death row. What happens next?

We all know vendors like K**te and similar UK sites have been making absolute mega money lately selling "Premium THCA Hemp Tea Flowers" and THCP vapes. They've been hiding behind the "not for human consumption" disclaimer and importing top-shelf US dispensary weed (Sherbzooka, Black Maple, etc.) disguised as legal hemp.

But the clock has officially run out.

The Home Office recently wrapped up its final consultation on the ACMD's recommendations, and it's a wrap. They are actively drafting the Statutory Instruments to update the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.

- Both THCA and semi-synthetic

cannabinoids like THCP are being

explicitly upgraded to Class B controlled

substances.

On top of that, the US is completely killing the federal hemp loophole on November 12, 2026, which is where 90% of this UK stock is imported from anyway. Border Force is already aggressively seizing packages using hot-testing methods that convert THCA to THC on the spot.

Once the UK parliamentary rubber-stamp vote happens later this year, the open high-street and clear-net sale of these products is entirely dead.

What are your thoughts on this?

Do you think this will just drive thousands of people straight back to regular street plugs, or push them toward the legal UK Medical Cannabis route?

For anyone who used these sites, have you noticed a massive spike in customs seizures or delays over the last few months?

Is this a necessary cleanup of unregulated, synthetic gray-market junk (like THCP vapes), or a massive step backward for people just trying to buy clean flower safely?

I've been a patient for a long time. I never thought we'd get to this stage. I'm glad to see multiple medicinal cannabis extracts available. Who's tried them?

Haven't used this unit in a while, new tube and it's as good as new. What are your thoughts on the Volcano? Are there now better options available?

Anti anxiety drugs with medical cannabis

I have tons of benefits from cannabis but easing anxiety is something it struggles to achieve at a stable rate. I am interested in asking my GP to prescribe some sort of medication for this, something different to the first few I tried.

I am unsure if there will be any interactions and if I can continue my medical cannabis use.

What are people's experiences with this?

I used to love mushrooms. Life would feel great, then bad trips happened during a time of deep betrayal.

I wouldn't recommend using mushrooms to get through bad life patches such as a broken relationship, if you're still attached to the person. It took quite a while to view myself differently after all that.

Mushrooms were screaming how ugly I am and how I should make as many changes to myself as possible, which I've already done. I felt worthless and that no woman would really love or understand me.

I had intense feelings of myself and how I am perceived by others. It was a very dark road for many months after a bunch of bad trips.

Mushrooms used to feel good and I was happy with myself until a toxic breakup brought me down. I'm at the stage now where I know I dodged a bullet and may undertake some sort of trip in the near future.

Wiped out on the kitchen floor

I'd just eaten around 2g dried. There were more fresh shrooms drying under the fan of an unknown amount. The music I was listening to whilst processing some heavy emotions was just too good. It encouraged me to eat some of those fresh shrooms.

Listening to music on full blast in my headphones, I smoked joint after joint and started feeling the best I had in quite some time. Later I decided to turn another unknown amount of fresh shrooms into tea. I even ate the shrooms after drinking the water.

I lit another joint, smoked it, maybe 20 mins after drinking the tea, I completely blacked for a few minutes. I woke up but couldn't see a thing, I could hear and was able to move around on the floor.

Luckily I managed to gain some sight after a while and stumbled to the bedroom. An overwhelming sense of anxiety took over and my heart was pounding for the next couple of hours.

Overconsumption is not recommended.

Took mushrooms, looked around and knew I needed to make changes.

I was high as you can be one night and somehow managed to get to my local shop, everyone I saw looked surreal. One guy's hair was blowing in the wind almost in perfect sync. His clothes were very vibrant and I thought he was happy with how he was, happy with life.

I needed to be like that guy. I headed into the shop, eyeballs like 8 balls. The keeper looked at me strange and said alright mate as I requested 20 L&B blue. I walked out and was going to light up, but I thought barely anyone smokes anymore, people would avoid walking past the stench and some man who keeps looking around everywhere.

I got back and walls were going yellow off the past smoke, things were cluttered. I'd just lost my ex of 10 years to another man and pregnancy. I thought my life was finished.

Later in the trip after a cry, I started cleaning those yellow walls. I knew the place needed to be mine, to look great, to feel like my own home. I needed to quit cigarettes and I needed to focus more on my surroundings and my cleanliness.

I started looking around at old friends and people in my life and knew who was worthy, I read people more cleanly and could tell a lot of people were just bothered about themselves. Barely anyone asked how I was prior to all this.

I learned a lot in just one trip and changed some things.

I made the plan and stuck to it. Everywhere looks much better now and cigarettes are no more.

Grafters delivered to my door, then one day I didn't ring them anymore.

Too many dealers got caught up in a cycle of rinse and repeat with blag packs or cheap buds sold for more than they were worth.

I had trouble with many local dealers due to lack of cannabis knowledge and knock off prices. The customer always knows best.

Tents were erected, and I began my journey, every day I'd wonder if the police would raid, whether a friend would grass or if the smell became too heavy to control.

I woke up one day and medical cannabis was legal and luckily due to life events, I was eligible for a prescription which I took immediately. I finished off a last grow, smoked that stuff like it was sacred smoke and never grew again.

My prescription saved me a ton of money, and later my lungs when I became a full time dry herb vape user, finally abiding by the law.

I'd recommend anyone who can, to take the same route.

Heavily relied on cannabis for the last 12+ years

Sometimes when I'm stoned I think deeply. I love the calm feeling cannabis gives me at times, but there are also times it makes my chest sink and depression stronger.

As much as I love weed, it has also dragged me into a loope of constant financial issues and stress. At the same time if you take my weed away, I'd be frustrated, and I'd aim to source a new batch as soon as possible.

There are good days and bad days on cannabis, but everyday, I wonder..

If I'll be stuck on cannabis forever

Does anyone else feel like this?

The paradox of solo tripping: Seeking freedom but finding intense isolation.

We often celebrate solo trips as the ultimate path to self-discovery and mental clarity. But there is a dark side to it that rarely gets discussed..The crushing wave of isolation.

When you remove the distraction of friends and social masks, you aren't just left with freedom, you are left entirely alone with the weight of your own mind.

For those who find solo experiences more lonely than liberating, how do you cope with that sudden disconnect from the world?

£120 for 2oz in the USA vs £300+ for 2oz on a UK Prescription... Thoughts?

Same amount. Same product category. Completely different price. Why are UK patients paying more than double for a legal prescription compared to prices seen in parts of the USA? Is it regulation, taxes, supply chains, or something else?

Interested to hear different perspective, what do you think explains the gap?
