NOCD is slowly killing my passion...

Love ERP and working with people with OCD. It is a passion of mine and I love seeing how fast it helps clients. But, the COMS, and upper management are making life miserable. I've been there for over a year and I have been put on meds, have horrible anxiety constantly, feel myself becoming more and more irritable to my family. Yes, I could quit, and I am trying... Believe me, I have even thought about getting fired for unemployment or going on some type of leave. I KNOW they are aware of how their workers feel but they don't care, which is so sad to me. When I first started they acted like they were this therapist first type of company where they really cared about us. Now, they only care about money. They're making millions every single month but they require 32 hours of face to face from all of us where most people require 20-25. They say this is because of cancelations but with a 100 dollar cancellation fee, this barely happens. Then if we're one hour down we get reminded over and over. I love how their emails say these generic "you're amazing" things and then BAM the rest is what you're doing wrong, what you could be doing better, and how much you suck. They also turned off the chat during meetings because they're afraid of what we will say in it. They never used to do this because they never used to be about money only. They can see how many people are leaving, instead of telling us WHY they do what they do that we don't like... they should try to fix what they're doing to work for all of us. We complain about metrix and their response is "we do it because..." Yes, I know the reason, I'm saying we HATE IT! The micromanaging, the COMS, the extra hours, the meetings, they KNOW they contribute to their own therapist's horrific mental health. They don't care. I would caution ANYONE who is considering working here, DON'T DO IT! From one person now struggling with mental health issues I didn't before working here... please don't do this to yourself. You're too important! Sending everyone out there love, kindness, and a career they're passionate about!

NOCD-Therapist burnout

Looking to start at NOCD, there are a few things you should know…

  1. They promote tons of extra money, but you have to hit tons of metrics to get it.
  2. They read your emails, messages w member, direct messages on Slack, if you use any of their programs they have access and they’re always watching.
  3. If you want to have any control over your own schedule, and/or move people around, you better let them know cause it sends them a notification and you’ll get in trouble. No anonymity, at all.
  4. If you use specific documents you better make sure you only use NOCDs or you’ll get in trouble.
  5. During meetings they will turn the chat off so people cannot discuss how frustrated they are with each other.
  6. They take PTO if you have to move something around on your calendar.
  7. You cannot discharge members without your COM agreeing to it. If you try they will tell you to try to keep them with us.
  8. If someone tells you they can’t afford NOCD you’re told to keep trying to convince them anyhow. If you don’t they won’t discharge them.
  9. If you are gonna be short on hours they will try to get you to message your members to try to squeeze more money out of them!
  10. If you use any sort of email or messaging outside of NOCD you get in HUGE trouble because they say you’re trying to poach their clients.
  11. If clients come that do not have OCD we’re supposed to try to keep them anyways. Even though we’re supposed to be specialists they are worried about money. If they’re willing to pay they don’t care if we have openings for OCD. We take everyone almost. If they have nothing we treat we’re supposed to go ahead and keep seeing them just in case we can find something.
  12. I’ve been through 4 COMs in my few years and they’re all so rude! Do NOT question them or they will require extra meetings and trainings every week until they’re done messing with you.
  13. If you reach out for extra help from higher up, they will tell you no, talk to your COM. SO, if it’s about your COM you have no one to go to!
  14. I was told 20 hours is full time, then 25, but they MAKE YOU schedule 32 hours!
  15. This is the WORST company I’ve ever worked for. The group I belong to that are/were all NOCD employees out of 20, there is less than 5 of us left and 2 are on their way out.
  16. If you don’t give them a 30 days notice they can keep your PTO and not pay you for it. Just FYI
I would rather make less, work more hours than EVER work for a company like this. I am now depressed, have horrible anxiety every single day, and feel like puking every time I get another dm. One simple email ruins my entire day and they email us ALL THE DAMN TIME!
