Has anyone had a borderline 38.5–39% mark raised to a pass after an exam board?

I’m waiting on the result of a supplemental language module in French , and the outcome determines whether I can progress and complete my year abroad to Paris
I missed a written component worth 40% because I genuinely misunderstood the repeat instructions. I accept responsibility for missing it and received zero, but I completed every remaining component.
The remaining breakdown was:
Engagement: 10/20 confirmed
Continuous assessment: worth 40 marks
Listening: worth 20 marks
Oral: worth 40 marks
Based on how they went, my honest estimates are approximately 30/40 for the CA, 14–15/20 for listening and 24–25/40 for the oral. That potentially leaves me anywhere around 38.5–40% overall.
I’ve submitted an explanation and supporting evidence, and my circumstances are supposed to be considered by the relevant examiners. I know 40% is the formal pass mark and that nobody is entitled to extra marks.
Has anyone actually experienced an examination board reviewing a result of 38.5–39.5% and raising it to 40%, particularly after supplemental exams? Did they consider the component breakdown and circumstances, or was the mark left unchanged?
Looking for genuine experiences rather than false reassurance.
