Already a few weeks in (Im an econ major) and so far I havent had any luck talking with new people. At times I do want to try saying a word but my anxiety sometimes gets the best of me and the few times I was successful nothing really came out of it. I feel I'm horrible with starting conversations esp after lectures. There arent any club events happening either so its a lot harder to socialize.

Any advice you guys have on this?

I'm definetely gonna get hate for this but fuck it.

Recently there's been tremendous backlash on this insta post highlighting the rise in Islamophobia amidst the Iran war. This is on a feminist page (A page which has made posts supporting liberation for Persians against the IRGC mind you).

Nothing about the post to me read off as endorsing the IRGC (though neither does it condemn it tbf but given the authors literally being outspoken against the taliban banning women from being educated, I doubt theres any reason she'd support the IRGC). However the comments seem to be taking it as such and im beyond confused. The post is litteraly just highlighting a rise in anti muslim bigotry during political tensions. The only thing being mentioned is that there is a war in Iran and Tehran and Beirut are being bombed. Nothing about that is disputed and the post never says hinting to the attacks against the IRGC being unjust.

Another grievance seems to be Iran being labeled a muslim country. I dont think people understand how loosely other muslims refer to other countries with muslims as muslim countries. People will call countries like Tunisia and Bosnia muslim countries inspite of them being heavily secular and furthest thing from functioning with Shariah. I understand Persians dont identify with Islam and prefer the term Persian but for this context it feels unnecessary to be attacking a post that's not even attacking Persians for being opposed to the IRGC.

Unless the author of the post is explicitly Pro-IRGC (from my findings nothing seems to suggest that they are) I feel the backlash to the post is unwarranted. Many issues can matter at the same time and I feel this is being blown way past proportion. Maybe im reading it wrong and if I am feel free to shit on me as im open to hearing other perspectives.

Ive always wondered why Black Yoshi lore has never been explored like Jeffy. Cause aint no way any one would let Black yoshi freeload of anyone like Mario without any deep reason (ESP GIVEN EVERYTIME BLACK YOSHI SCREWED OVER MARIO). I always thought there was some deep personal reason as to why Mario just never fully commits to kicking Black yoshi out like him being a childhood best friend who went through serious stuff or something.

Pretty much all of my friends are out of town for the holidays and im only doing courses part time. Now im really bored whenever I'm not working or studying and wanna do something fun.

Im doing spring for the first time but pretty much all my friends are taking spring off and I have many people to be around during spring. I was just curious if clubs run during spring as I'd love to try joining one and meet new people.
